Archaeological site - Roman Bridge
In the valley of the Tungelroyse Brook, east of the Maaseikerweg between Stramproy and Tungelroy, well-preserved remains of a Roman bridge have been discovered. This so-called corduroy bridge is truly unique — it’s the only one of its kind ever found in the Netherlands.
A bridge replica is now part of several walking and cycling routes. Want to know more? Download the free Archeo Route Limburg app. There, Archie, the virtual archaeologist, will tell you the full story.
